Days Events:

Wx - windy 15-30 SE, TSM this pm. [tomorrow, winds will be 1-2 !!]

Photos - the flags at attention, which makes us glad we didn't dock at Horizon today, even with assistance! Two pale ales - Marg had Toegs Haze Charmer, from Pennsylvania; I had Smuttynose pale ale from New Hampshire; both tasty. The P.Butter Explosion shows the steely resolve I had to eat only half at lunch - then the rest for supper. Sunset by Marg; and post-storm in the marina as well.

Food - Marg made oatmeal/choc.chip cookies! We had take-out from the Hotel restaurant for lunch [they close at 17:00/5pm due to Covid] - Marg had a Maine Lobster Roll, and I had a Beef Quesadilla; I also could not resist a dessert - Peanut Butter Explosion [layered choc. cake with P.Butter creme]. Such choices now: the PB Explosion v Oatmeal/choc.chip cookies!

Admirals Desk: Really glad we didn't attempt to leave this morning. There were some pretty wild wind gusts. It's raining now and the wind is calm. Sometimes these layover days drag on. Especially this one. Only an hour away from the final stop. Good thing it's nearly happy hour. Like Rob, I made lists of what we are leaving on the boat so restocking in the spring will be easier. We're taking mainly personal items off the boat. And I'm going go burn my boat clothes when we get home!😆 That's all for today.

Maintenance: Inventory - we kept busy reviewing our inventory - what to keep here, what to take with us, etc.

Wind noise - the bimini top is 'rattling' worse than usual; so jury-rigged 12' fender lines to pull the 3 support frames tighter - and bingo, the rattle almost disappeared! The Admiral was so pleased she baked oatmeal-choc.chip cookies for me.

Transmission filters - removed the covers; much easier than I thought [don't need the replacements; but...JIC (just in case)]; the O-rings and filters are clean, no black fluids or particulates. Another first!

Horizon Marina 'to-do' list - updated what I would like them to do this winter/spring to have less risk of 'breakdowns'; as well as be more presentable to a former commodore we know.

Tomorrow - our last day on the water this season [presumably]; only 11 miles to Horizon's 1000 Is.Club Marina, slip #78, for a stbd stern-in docking. That's all today. Stay safe.

Comments:

Ernie R. - 3 Sep 2020: Congratulations to you both on this great accomplishment in very uncertain times! Am sure your boat storage folks will have D.A. up to Commodore/yacht standards upon your return to continue this great adventure! Perhaps a boating checklist required before dessert could be consumed (or in some cases wolfed down!) would help to maintain certain standards! Be safe
