Days Events:

Wx - 69/76, winds S 10, cloudy.

Photos - Marg captured the clouds last night, as well as the marina office and flags; the Clayton Harbor Resort/Hotel - really nice spot overlooking the St. Lawrence R; a mural near the town center; we had a nice stroll around the Hotel; a new pale ale the Admiral found for us to try.

Admirals Desk: The blog has become a part of our daily routine. We talk about what to comment on, what photos to take and add as we travel. At the end of the day after we're docked and settled and get a beer we rehash the events of the day and start typing. It initially seemed onerous but now we look forward to it. It's our diary! And we really enjoy your comments. Its good to know you're keeping an eye on us. Supper could be interesting. Soup with ground beef and whatever else I can use up. (Update: only half an onion, green onions and a head of iceberg lettuce left in the fridge; corn, peas, and spinach in the freezer.( May need MacDonald's soon.

Mane event: colored my hair this morning. And, finally after 2 1/2mos, I really need a haircut! Trying to reorganize a few cabinets. After 6 mos things get stuffed wherever there is space available. One of the downsides to cooler weather and leaving the doors open is flies and bugs. We don't have screens. The butter is protein enriched. That's all for today.

Maintenance:

Boat washing - a much needed bath, with soap/water; got rid of most of the spiders/spider poop/webs/crud. Have to look reasonably presentable prior to the 6 month rest. Diesel smoke/fume staining the port side of the transom mostly, related to more smoke when running at 2200 rpm - will discuss with the mechanic at Horizon. [It could be related to our not having our speed endorsement for the boat - a higher than usual speed likely requires some change in another setting I don't know about, so may have to do some additional courses so I can pass the test for that, eh Ernie!]

Water filter - changed the under-sink one because the water flow was starting to look like an octogenarian's bladder stream; 3 months since the last change. Oils, etc - all good. Tomorrow - the forecast now suggests winds 15-30kts with rain and TSM all day; so we decided to not spoil our last day on the water and will wait until Thurs, when winds will be 5-10 and sunny skies will be all day.

T-2 still. That's all today. Stay safe.

Comments:

Ernie R - 2 Sep 2020: Glad to see you are getting D.A. back to Yacht standards so we all will be proud of the home port on the stern! We will get you speed certified upon your return, can train on Waypoint! Stern will be fine once you get all that “barely running “ carbon blown out! Congratulations!
