Days Events:

Wx - stormy most of day; cloudy; temp 75-80, humid as usual; flood warnings here.

Tourist - had booked a carriage tour of old city but wx interfered and we cancelled. Will try for their DASH bus downtown tomorrow, where one can get off/on at several stops and it is free.

Shopping - I took the courtesy car to Publix at the request of the Admiral to pick needed supplies for her meal in the InstaPot tonight. Also, bought myself some blueberry scones for desserts.

Photos - one of the residential through-fares enroute to Publix; one of our hose having a 'stroke' - actually looks like a dissecting artery in the human body - the inner hose layer has been 'punctured' and the water is pushing out between that and the clear outer covering, just like when an artery dissects [separates the layers, causing severe pain, usually in the abdomen or chest]. So I had to cut off the offending section and reattach the female end.

E-bike - the angled valve adapters I ordered from Amazon installed nicely and I was able to blow up both of my e-bike tires - a positive event.

MECHANICAL:

Galley tap - replaced the under-sink cold water filter a few days ago and it went from an 80 yr old prostate dribble to a 40 yr old spout. The filter is 'supposed' to be good for 6 months; we were misled. It was steadily getting worse and Marg finally had enough and said, since she uses it the most, why don't you check the prostate on this thing since you installed it!! So we sort of did a radical 'TURP' [TransUrethralResection of the Prostate - done on men by urologists] - instead of just shoving a scope in one end and reaming out the lining, we just removed the whole filter and installed a new one [if life could be so simple for old men!!].

Nothing else to report today. Will have some projects next week. Tomorrow, we go to Carolina Yacht Club for one night. Our friend looper, who sold us many of his paper maps after they completed the loop, lives in Charleston, still as the Dean of Medicine there, and is a member of that Club and offered us a place to stay because it is right downtown and the view is great.

With so many loopers/boaters Northbound now, we are making reservations at least 7-10 days in advance; although we could anchor out, that is now our Plan B option only. I enjoy investigating all the options ahead of us and deciding who to call first.

CV19 is spiking in several States so we continue to wear our masks and distancing ourselves - but after such a good experience at the restaurant last night, we will pick and choose more to visit.

Ernie R  •  12 Jun, 2020:  HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! Rob, glad to see you gave Marg a break and vacuumed the engine room yourself! You know a Sea Keeper would solve all that rockin and rolling! West Marine sells some fender doo dads that keeps the line from pulling through center. Have had to use wd40 to pull line through, can get really stuck! Be safe!
