An Eventful Day:

Wx - no change: warm, humid, sunny, TSM possible this evening - basically same lately!

Shopping/Tourism - we rented an SUV [nothing else available] from Budget x 24hrs for our own touring and several shopping stops. Got groceries [WinnDixie], refreshments [ABC wines/spirits - v.inexpensive, so we 'loaded' up], West Marine [Racor fuel filter], the bank, the pharmacy, and an electric cycle shop for a tire tube. In Winn Dixie, only staff on the floor wore masks; the checkout counters had screens. In the liquor store was masking, screens, and distancing. Therefore, Miss Margaret deduced it is safer to shop in the liquor than in the grocery store!!

Drove around old historic St. A. Oldest [16th C] European settled community in the USA; narrow streets, touristy, bars/pubs /dining/etc. A beautiful old college, Flagler, and the Cathedral Basilica of St.A [see photos]. People walking everywhere; no masks; the tour trolleys were quite a contrast - the one had everyone with a mask, while the other there was no one!

TV - watching Miss Marple [the 1980's original, with Joan Hickson]; great whodunit stuff from Agatha Christie.

Photos - A couple compare high and low tides; it's 4 ft twice a day here [range from 1' at Daytona to 9' near Charleston, NC] which can put you on the mud without adequate dockside depth [we do]. The tides create a current, going in ['flood' stage] and going out ['ebb' stage], which can create docking problems. A few more of Rivers Edge; and Marg took several of historic St.A.

Humor - received the same group of jokes from friends Duane Mc. and Dave N., called Men and their Wives. This might be our favorite: Today's Short Reading From the Bible. From Genesis: "And God promised men that good and obedient wives would be found in all corners of the earth." Then, he made the earth round and He laughed and laughed and laughed!

MECHANICAL:

Batteries - since the house pair kept dropping overnight to 11.8v (the other two stayed over 13v), used the SUV to pick up two identical replacements at NAPA [Golf Car 230ah, 6v, GC-2 size]; used dielectric grease to coat the posts/connections. I will return the 2 'bad' ones tomorrow for a recycling refund, just before I return the car.

That's all today. Will have supper takeout from Hurricane Patty's [at the top of the dock] tonight plus cocktails!! We continue to practice distancing as much as reasonable [wear masks in the store, avoiding the crowds, etc]; will wait to see how much of a spike there will be in the next few weeks, but I'm sure we will resume 'restauranting' soon.

Continue distancing while continuing to stay in touch.
