EVENTS TODAY/non-mechanical:

Wx - sunny, little wind, 85F; TSM as approached St.Augustine but the gods were on our side and it missed us.

Travel - a pleasure boating with not as many and only 1 instance of waking; lots of different terrain and homes - see photos.

The Rivers Edge Marina is close to downtown St.Augustine, up the meandering San Sebastian River - photos of it and the restaurant on site [Hurricane Patty's]. Nice and helpful folks, masking w/ the public, who can only pick up mail left outside door.

Photos - several of the changing to more sandy/marshy areas; a bridge decorated with ceramics of manatees & dolphins; our morning departure with water like glass, bright sun. Marg took shots of new metric tools and my solveeveryproblem tool tote bag.

Snap-Crackle-Pop - a Google search found that our ongoing hull noises are by sub-tropical marine life, snapping shrimp, aka Alpheus heterochaelis, feeding on life forms attached to boat hulls; sound is either the clap of the claw or more likely, per marine biologists, a bubble from the claw's quick closing; sounds like Rice Krispies in milk!

MECHANICAL:

Alternators - working well, thankyouverymuch$$$. The voltmeter on the bridge shows over 13v for both starter batteries and 12.4v for the house battery after 6 hours of travel. Hopefully, the batteries will hold a recharge.

Tools - Amazon brought my new metric wrenches today; nice & shiny.

A/C strainer - the a/c water pump strainer was full of barnacles, stuck to the outer site glass - see photo; and basket plugged with essentially string algae - was clean into Daytona, so likely that's were the offenders entered. Used one of Marg's plastic spatulas to scrape them off and then hand pump the water out, flush by opening the seacock a bit [have to close it before taking out the strainer basket], and pump out again; which caused pump to lose its prime; so the wet-dry vac was again needed to suck up the water into the system, priming the pump. Neither of us would have slept well w/o the a/c.

Tomorrow, will get an Uber to go downtown and do a brief walkabout tour; St.Augustine is the oldest city in the USA and has some great Spanish architecture. May try eating out too, at Hurricane Patty's here at the marina.

That's all the news today that's worth printing. Keep on distancing, as we are, but keep in touch.
