Event of the Day: our HP printer is driving us crazy; sometimes it will connect [direct wifi connection, not via a dockside or community wifi], sometimes it won't; Marg was getting quite perturbed, so I came and offered help and it worked - really 'perturbed' then. Then, I was having trouble printing pages for the boat manual, so she offered her help, and it worked but only for one of the two pages. I think it is the bad karma related to technology having covid19. [It finally did print - 4 copies - just need to be more patient!!]
I was so frustrated and fatigued by this bad karma that I had to have a mid-day nap - which the boss thought was a wonderful opportunity to snap a photo, and as Admiral ordered me to add it to the blog. I have learned to follow orders.
Updates:
We each made our runs [not bowel related] - Marg to Publix, me to West Marine and to ACE Hardware. Got everything we needed, even more disposable nitrile gloves.
Cleaned/wiped down the flybridge benches and lockers - hadn't been done thoroughly since we started Mar.1; used ZEP [bleach based], 409, elbow grease.
Connected the TV cable after buying a coax female/female adapter at ACE; will see what is available here on TV [for free even].
Finished creating the daily routes, as far as Carrabelle, onto the Chartplotter. Now have 3 devices for backing up one another. Also, updated AquaMaps, another navigation software like Navionics, but more colorful layout; many loopers use it as well, so I have it on my phone and on the tablet [Galaxy tab A 10.1]. Also pulled out my big map books [18"x24"] so we have paper backup available as well as for use to a better 'big' view of the routes. Some loopers don't use any paper maps anymore; most use a mixture I think, but more and more everyone is acquiring dependence on the electronic formats, partly because they can be updated so easily and you can manipulate them to your personal preferences. The paper products are out of date the day of print - although most streets, rocks, rivers, don't change locations very often, the depths of the channels can do so quite frequently.
Tomorrow, winds and wx will be here so won't do much except pay the bill at the marina before we leave Thurs.a.m.
Although Alabama is joining other States this week in lifting stay-at-home restrictions, there remain some restrictions and social distancing is still encouraged. So keep distancing for now but keep in touch as always.
