Days Events:

Wx - cloudy, occasional rain, T - 84 [feels 94], humid.

Tourist - borrowed marinas courtesy car and looked at the Spanish Moss Trail - several miles of hiking/biking on a paved surface, with lots of live Oaks/moss visible along the way; we just stopped at two of their parking access points - see photos. The downtown has lots of oaks/moss creating a nice canopy effect over the roads. Green and lush everywhere - i.e. humid!!

Cleaning - aft deck vinyl had 'dirt' marks from the power cord; used 409 and a scrubpad and cleaned up nicely. Need to put a cover over the side ledge when cord in use to prevent this - have seen several other boats with fitted covers specifically for that also. Of course, also indicates I need to clean the power cord (again) - started and will do it 'bit by bit' - takes 'bit' of elbow grease and don't want to get 'rubbers elbow'.

Photos - shots of the Spanish Moss Trail; and of historic home downtown; and the marinas DIY workshop [something Duane McCartney will be interested in] - the 'long-termers' here can use it and leave their tools there, quite safely it seems; us 'short-termers' can use it but have to supply our own tools.

Navigation - the legacy [aka 'old'] Raymarine E80 chartplotter needs another electronic map - I thought it would be available to download but now find I 'misunderstood' what Navionics had told me; you must buy the loaded card--maps are stored on a CF--which is plugged into the unit, and then updates, etc are done on-line. Therefore, have ordered another Compact Flash which includes all of N.America, to be delivered to one of our anticipated marinas next week. The biggest problem is that the old electronic units [our E80] will not work with the newer high memory cards [new cards typically are 16GB; the legacy can only handle 250MB max!!!] so once I have the new card, I erase the cards memory completely, then download the maps which add up to 250MB [about 600 miles of coastline]. I will have to repeat this process about every 600miles; so may consider replacing the legacy model.

TV - watched another Miss Marple [Joan Hickson as M.Marple - the original] last night; working our way through several seasons. A nice counter to many other shows with gratuitous violence.

MECHANICAL:

Another positive day because the report is negative [take note Ernie Rivard].

Marg is using the InstaPot again tonight - does an amazing and quick job [both the Pot and Marg].

Planning and reviewing - have confirmed marinas now through Wed.June 17. S.Carolina has a big increase in CV19 with their restrictions being lifted so we will continue our relative isolation and distancing. Carry on folks with distancing and keeping in touch.
