[Ed.Note: our 3 days at Columbus have been summarized from the original blog.]

Wed.Mar.4/Day 4:   Decided to stay several days due to poor wx forecast. Took well used courtesy van to Walmart/Lowes for tarp and plastic to cover dinghy, and groceries; and to ‘Hucks’ restaurant.  Met new Looper friends, Tom and Phyllis Hedge on ‘Manifest’, who had started from Rhode I. last year, but left their boat near here for the winter. We used the marinas laundry, $1/load paid on honor system.

The freshwater pumps filter partially pulled away from the housing and I had to use bailing wire to hold it in place until we get a replacement [see photo].

One particular notable event: as approached a lock on Monday, voice over radio said “do you know you are a retard?” He followed with "Any moron can see the marina over here and is supposed to have no wake". The marina was at least a half mile away and Marg noted that there was no sign indicating "SLOW WAKE" and I passed this information on to him. The lockmaster interjected on the radio telling him to 'behave himself'; and then, once we were in the lock, apologized because this fellow has been a recurring problem with such messages and they can do nothing about it.

Thurs.Mar.5/Day 5: Wx still wet with flooding waters but should improve later today; we have become very wx aware, daily. Took van to Dollar Store for marine type TP [thin, quick to dissolve, required to prevent plugging of VacuFlush system]. We are learning how to use the blog better; I hadn't been linking the posts and photos [among other things]. Went to a new spaghetti restaurant with Looper friends, the Hedges, who we will buddy boat with when we leave tomorrow [hopefully].

Fri.Mar.6/Day 6: Wind prevented us leaving, due to the narrow and shallow channel out of marina. Summarized our navigation equipment, chartplotters, Galaxies, phones, wifi, etc. , and spent time reading novels and learning more about our electronics and our wifi systems.Tomorrow head to Sumpter Landing anchorage, 65 mi.

Helen  •  04 Mar, 2020: I bet you'll be meeting all sorts of interesting characters on this journey!

Wayne  •  04 Mar, 2020: Good thing you can fix more things than just people, bet that "gentleman" is just jealous because he doesn't have a boat like yours.

Deedee  •  06 Mar, 2020: Lol!! Hilarious blog😍

Bruce and Susan Fri, Mar 6, 2020: It appears you have to be adventuresome, resourceful and above all, brave! Have a great time!!!!

Janice - 6 Mar 2020: Hmmm, I haven’t been seeing photos with your posts. Just one photo of your boat and some fellow standing way up high on it.... think it might be you Rob!

Robert & Margaret - 6 Mar 2020: Indeed, it is moi. The photos are all 'hidden' under the initial one; you have figured that out already. The wind today is truly wicked. How often did you two have to defer road travel w/ your RV due to wind - probably a few times I should think

Janice - 7 Mar 2020: Yes.... retirement and the gift of time, it’s worth getting older for.... I think . Found the treasure trove of pictures after I told you they weren’t there.

Deedee - 7 Mar 2020: Love your blog!! You should write a book! You have a gift
