Events of the Day:

Some folks might be 'less interested' in maintenance related issues, so I'm going to divide everything into 'Mechanical' and 'Non-mechanical', and if you are not interested in my maintenance related ramblings, it will be easier to skip over!

MECHANICAL: [ie. probably interesting and informative] cleaned the strainers on the genset [s/a generator] and the a/c pump: the genset was plugged; the a/c one about half plugged, but the pump started ok without having to prime it this time - a bonus! Maybe because I didn't clean the strainer glass as much and bump out more water??

Found a small leak from the Trim Tab reservoir in the lazarette [stern, under the aft deck - the tabs extend down and help to bring the bow down so the boat can 'get on top of the water' more easily which allows greater speed when required]; likely from my holding the switch down too long to extend the tabs too long to get up on plane -- we don't have a trim tab position indicator [to tell me how much they are extended], and all I can do is press the switch and watch the bow go down, usually it takes 10-15 secs; [the tabs are about 18" wide and 12" deep, pivoting under the stern]; pressing the switch too long likely makes it leak around the hose couplings. Will keep an eye on it. [hint: need a trim tab indicator gauge]

NON-MECHANICAL: [possibly less interesting and more boring] Wicked storm last evening, and again this a.m.; had to re-tie the docking lines because the swim platform was being pushed back into a cement pillar; added another spring line and ratcheted both spring lines to keep us more forward; added the large round/ball fender [aka the 'big bingle ball', so named by Marg and her sister Pat] to the stbd corner.

Photo of the marina's mooring field [boats tie to mooring balls in the harbor and use their dinghy to get to the dock] and their dinghy dock; showing choppy water and how the boats are symmetrically aligned into the wind - the mooring ball enables them to swing according to the wind's direction. Mooring is cheaper than tying to a dock.

Marg took an Uber to Publix to restock; about half of customers were masked. Brought back Boddington's Pub Ale, 'deviled eggs', and chocolate Gelato. I'm spoiled. We looked at our travel plans to Sebastian tomorrow.

For now, keep distancing and keep in touch.

PS again from Marg: I hope everyone knows I was spoofing friend Ernie about the alligator comment he made on the blog! I would indeed tussle with an alligator to save my sweetie, even if he has OCD about the lines!! Janice's "hand sanitizer" is better than anything I could come up with.😁
