Didn't post anything yesterday, because no cell service on Saul Creek, north of Appalachicola. Events yesterday, Friday, May 1:

Our two anchors worked well to stop the swing and rocking - too well!!! We couldn't retrieve the stern anchor; likely stuck too deep in the mud and even with backwards power, etc, it wouldn't release. So had to pull the shackle holding the rope on the 20 ft of 3/8" G4 chain and the 22 lb Danforth. Others have had similar experiences apparently.

A good cruise to Saul Creek where we anchored in flood waters with a current of 2.5 - 3 mph, but our Rocna held us immediately with 125 ft in 14 ft depth; minimal swing due to the strong current. Slept well. No movement per the anchor alarm. See photos of the anchorage, and some neat perspectives on the water. There's one of a shipbuilding plant on the east side of Panama City. Also, sunset/sunrise on Saul. Left this a.m. about 8:30 for The Moorings of Carrabelle, in Carrabelle; only 36 miles, 3.5 hrs, easy cruising.

Marg: We are here in Carrabelle, arriving just after noon. A great day on the water after a very nice overnight in Saul Creek. After filling the tanks and pumping out, with superior boat docking skills in wind and current by Rob, and getting into a nice face dock, again with excellent boat docking skills by Rob, we knew we were tempting fate with all that good stuff. We were hopeful that we would have a day without an event of the day to report. But.....see tomorrow's post. [OOps rest of the post didn't get saved. Later. We just set off for Steinhatchee!! Weather looks very good for a gulf crossing. ]
